dc.descriptionTOURIST TERMINOLOGY: SEMANTICS AND FUNCTIONING The monograph is devoted to the study of English-language tourist vocabulary based on the material of English-language tourist guides to Ukraine, including a comprehensive study of the semantic and functional features of English-language tourist terminology. The main approaches to the definition and study of terminological vocabulary are outlined. The field structure of the terminological field “tourism” and lexical and semantic relations between its constituents are analyzed. The level of representation of tourism terminology in English-language explanatory and encyclopedic dictionaries is determined. The word-formation parameters of English-language tourist terms are considered. The characteristic features of guidebooks as a genre of tourist discourse are outlined and the peculiarities of the functioning of tourist terminology in them are clarified. Recommended for researchers, lecturers, PhD students, students and anyone interested in learning English.
dc.description.abstractМонографія присвячена вивченню англомовної туристичної лексики на матеріалі англомовних туристичних путівників по Україні, в тому числі комплексному дослідженню семантичних і функціональних особливостей англомовної туристичної термінології. Викладено основні підходи до визначення та вивчення термінологічної лексики. Проаналізовано польову структуру термінологічного поля «туризм» і лексико-семантичні відношення між його конституентами. Визначено рівень представленості туристичної термінології в англомовних тлумачних та енциклопедичних словниках. Розглянуто словотвірні параметри англомовних туристичних термінів. Окреслено характерні риси путівників як жанрового різновиду туристичного дискурсу та з’ясовано особливості функціонування в них туристичної термінології. Для мовознавців – наукових працівників, викладачів, аспірантів, студентів і всіх, хто цікавиться вивченням англійської мови.
